Season 3 : Minisode 6 – The Training Schedule

This is as close as the Gomers get to disobeying their wives – a quick Minisode updating the Nation on their new Marathon training schedule even though they’re supposed to be observing radio silence.  Oh well, while they’re at it, why not a little Oscar chat?  Oh hold on, what did they think of the Superbowl (ads)?  And does Conan’s sister really look all that much like Conan?  As long as they’re recording, they might as well discuss that too.

From left to right: Conan(?) Conan’s sister(?)

Make sure you check out the THREE new training schedules just to the right of the page, and feel free to choose one based on your level of fitness and train with the Gomers.  See you in March, and Happy Running!

Hey guys! Just got my tax refund back and it’s burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted to buy a Two Gomers t-shirt but it looks like they are not available at the moment. Any idea when they will be back up for purchase? Can’t wait to represent the Gomer Nation while I’m running.

Thanks for a great, inspiring show, dudes! I love you guys!

Quick note: thanks for the minisode during your time off.

Hi Gomers! Long-time listener, but just started being actively involved in the Gomer Nation community. I just listened to this minisode, and would love to be involved in the Gomer Challenge West, since I am running the SD R&R. Maybe I could organize a pasta dinner the night before for the GN citizens out here? Or whatever you decide would be a cool satellite activity, I’d be glad to help out in SD.

A group of us are setting up a virtual 5k run in aid of the earthquake victims in Christchurch.

It would be fantastic if you could help us spread the word in whatever way you can. Twitter, Facebook, a shout out on the intervals podcast maybe. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

    Thank you

This is our official release …

As you may know, New Zealand’s second largest city, Christchurch, was devastated by a 6.3 earthquake at lunchtime on Tuesday 22 February 2011. There have been at least 113 fatalities and two days later over 200 people are still missing.

Kiwis out of Christchurch and people around the world want to know how they can help, and the answer’s short. With money. But we all want to feel like we’re doing more than just typing our credit card numbers into a box and clicking submit. So we thought we’d go for a run. Wearing red and black, to show the people of Canterbury we love them. And we’d like you to join us for a virtual run. Wherever you are.

If you’d like to participate, just follow these easy steps:

    * make a donation here, using the link below [Minimum $5 (NZD), recommended donation of $1 per k]

    * tell the world you’re in. Share the love on Twitter, Facebook, your blog, whatever

    * on the 12th or 13th of March, pop your red and black on, and hit the streets, or the pavements, or the trails, or wherever it is you run.

    * then send us a link to your race report, and we’ll post it on our website, http://run4chch.wordpress.com.

We’re hoping to get 100 entries, so please share this with everyone you know!
