  1. Hello gentlemen, I am currently 214lbs and am hoping to lose 10lbs. I am also a health teacher in Delano, CA and am encouraging all my classes to join be on this adventure. I am providing a goal document to keep them on track and I’ll keep you updated on how many participant I obtain and our progress. I am also running my first half marathon on November 6th in Fresno, CA. Since I have started listening and training I have lost 28lbs. Keep up the good fight brothers in motion.

    Love, Truth, and Honor,
    Steven Arthur

BTW, I don’t have a 5k PR, but I did run my first 10k during this training at 1:03:35, which is posted on my whiteboard.

  2. You guys are so hilarious & remind me of my friends & I from Band in high school. When I found your podcast this summer, I was just starting to run and had no idea where that was headed. Prior to this summer, I would always say that the only way I would run is if something was chasing me! I signed up for a 5k in August, and actually ended up 3rd in my age group. There were only 4, but I’m not telling anybody that!

I have been having some trouble with motivation since, but I’ve now signed up for both of your challenges. My husband & I are both going to lose 10 lbs by New Year’s, and I’m going to run a faux-5k on Thanksgiving, as there aren’t any Turkey Trots in my area. I’m also going to train for a half-marathon in mid-April, which is why I’m writing you today.

I just got an email from one of the women doing the 1/2 marathon with me in April. She said that they’ve opened it up to two-person relay teams as well, so each person would do about 6.5 miles. She wanted to know if I wanted to do that with her instead. So I sent a text to my husband, saying “should I do just the 1/2 1/2 marathon, or the whole thing?”. He just wrote back, “What would the Gomers do?”

Needless to say, I’m going to commit to the entire 1/2 Marathon in April. You guys are awesome & such an inspiration! I’m going back and listening to the first season now, and it’s great! Thank you so much! :)

  3. Hi Guys
I ran a faux-5k the day after Thanksgiving. My grandson (with his parents) come up to Michigan for Thanksgiving. At 4:00 AM he woke with the “croup”. I spent T morning at a doctors office. Oh well. That’s what you have to look for in the future. Got to be flexible.
So my question is are we recording our time somewhere? Haven’t listen to this weeks podcast yet if you say something there.
Thanks for all you have done

  4. 2012 goals – 500 miles running, 500 hours of swimming and 500 miles of cycling Fun!!!

  5. Hey Gomers, can you post a link to the Google Spreadsheet for the 2012 mileage challenge and give people a place to post their mileage month by month? I find it helpful motivation to be held accountable on an ongoing basis, even just by posting on a public document. Would appreciate it if you get a moment!

  6. Hey Guys, Brett from up in Canada shouting out a hello, long time listner, first time writing to you. I’ve enjoyed all your episodes, I started listening during season 2 up until the present time. A funny thing happened that I wanted to share. I’ve surfed your website on more than one occassion, and I’ve seen your pictures, but I recently switched to updating your episodes on my iphone rather than itunes, so I downloaded your back episodes from Season 1 and in there was a video file. I watched and listened and realised I’ve had the wrong voices associated to the wrong gomer. I’m still trying to listen and picture the right gomer with the right voice now LOL
Keep up the great podcast, looking forward to Season 5
